To celebrate the 11th anniversary of my victory of the MontVentoux stage in the 1994 Tour de France, I started to walk the streets as an organizer of cycling tours of the legendary Tour de France. The idea was born one night in 2005, whilst in my bar, which I owned at the time, during a wine, food and salted meats tasting evening with my close friends. |
At a certain stag during that evening, a few very close friends, over a bottle of fine Amarone, were speaking about the climbs riders challenge during the Tour de France. They asked if I had gone back to climb Ventoux and my response was 'No', I had not been back there since the 18th July, 1994. I exclaimed it was time I went back to do it again, but this time with all of them
So, on June 23rd, 2006 at 7am, we departed Verona for 3 days on my first tour. 45 of us left Bedoin, season and ready to take on the terrible, yet fascinating and exciting climb of MontVentoux.
Since that day, every year on the 3rd weekend in June, i depart with groups of riders a tour dedicated to the legendary climbs of the Tour de France in the Alps.
My 7 x Tour de France races, 4 x Giro d'Italia , 4 x Vuelta, 9 x Paris-Roubaix, 9 x Tours of Flanders ... as a cyclist, my latest 8 x Tour de France as a guide for the tour guests of Vittel in collaboration with the A.S.O. has given me the knowledge and experienc which has placed me in a position to undertake tours in this challenging and excting way.
With "MountVentoux Bike Emotions" I make available experience, paying particular attention whilst pedaling (even if you are not a rider) to the territory that surrounds us, tasting typical products and visiting the most legendary monuments that we discover along our ride. My aim is to leave in your heart unique emotions never felt before...
MountVentoux Bike Emotions organizes tailor-made tours for private groups, companies and organizations of throughout the Italian and French territory.
MountVentoux Bike Emotions has its base in Verona, a city rich in Roman history and culture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a very strategic location, positioned in the north.
Due to the proximity of Lake Garda and the Dolomites, the beauty of the hills of Valpolicella, Soave, Custoza and Lessini mountains, Verona is the perfect starting point for our Tours
